Websites to Learn about Photography and Digital Cameras

Photography is my passion. Recently I read an article in about the same topic. Just wanted to gather all information at one place. Lets checkout the websites related to photography and digital cameras.

1. Digital Photography School

A website with simple tips to help digital camera owners get the most out of their cameras. It has 3 main parts namely photography tips and tutorial, cameras and equipment, and post production. Darren Rowse is the guy behind Digital Photography School. He is a digital photography enthusiast and while it’s not how he makes his living.

2. DPreview

If you are looking to buy a camera or if you want to compare various cameras and their features, DPreview should be your first choice. This is the way I learned about cameras. They gradually built the site up to include their vast digital camera database, timeline, forums, galleries a glossary and learn section.

The detailed reviews and information about cameras takes the camera reviews to a new level. Specifications and the buyer’s guide are understandable.

3.The Digital Photography Connection

Started with the goal of providing free quality training and information to all digital photographers, it has a large collection of free tutorials that you can purchase, but the free offerings on the site are equally as good. These include well narrated PowerPoint presentations about memory cards, calibrating your computer monitor, and shooting tack sharp images. The site also includes free tutorials for using Adobe Lightroom, a leading image processing and management application

4. Short

A cool digital photography resource with over 6, 000, 000 visitors a year, provides digital photography tips as free tutorial manuals about all category of photography. Each manual is for sale in both PDF format and printed book format but they have some really good free offerings that are examples of their well done books.

I call this as the hub of photography. is an online community with hundreds of thousands of active members and many more casual viewers visiting daily. You get almost everything you want about photography.

They have an active photography forum for 28 different photography categories ranges from black & white photography to wedding & social photography. Another section called photography equipment includes information about all branded camera equipments. They also have photo gallery which is a collection of some cool photos, a place to share your photos and interesting articles about photography.

Another interesting site where you can read photography articles, browse photography equipment and digital camera reviews, purchase digital cameras, find stock photography, locate a photographer, or sign up for an imagePRO account to promote your own photography and services.

Links to photographer websites, access to stock photos, somewhere to build your professional photography website using ImagePRO. It’s all here. Careful with the links. They’ll take you to numerous other websites.
